Everything Polar

Feel free to Contact me if you have any questions about visiting the polar regions.  I have worked on board a number of expedition ships for

a number of Antarctic expedition operators as a naturalist, photographer, lecturer and zodiac driver over the past four years.  I have also

worked in Svalbard and undertaken two private expeditions to Greenland including a ski crossing of the Greenland icecap in 2005.

Check out the Australian Antarctic Division's website and if you make it to Hobart take the leisurely drive south to Kingston to check out the

Antarctic display at AAD headquarters.  The AAD site is filled with fantastic information for scientists, kids and Antarcticians generally.

Cool Causes

Albatross Conservation - Robert Cushman Murphy once famously said: "I have joined a higher band of mortals for I have now seen the

albatross."  Anyone who has seen the giant Wandering Albatross sweep effortlessly in 40 knot winds across the vast expanses of the

Southern Ocean or heard the call of the gorgeous Light-Mantled Sooty Albatross from a cliff-top in South Georgia will know exactly what Mr

Murphy meant.

Fred Hollows Foundation - There is no greater gift than restoring preventable blindness.  The Fred Hollows Foundation works to prevent

unnecessary blindness.  Remarkably the Foundation has restored sight to over 1 million people since its inception.
